“Epicureanism” is a kind of philosophy based upon the teachings of Epicurus (341 BC – 271 BC). This famous man was seeking for happiness in its highest form and absence of pain as well. Tranquility and freedom from fear through knowledge considered to be the highest pleasures. Nowadays an Epicure is defined as a person devoted to refined sensuous enjoyment, especially through good food, drink and art.
