ARTAMO GALLERY

is located in the historic arts district in downtown Santa Barbara, a few steps from the Museum of Art. Established in January of 2005, the gallery features original contemporary art by national and international mid-career artists. Their work includes paintings, sculpture, works on paper or in mixed media. We select dynamic pieces that are powerful and thought provoking. We offer design consultation, private viewing and in home trials.

STREET WISE — ASHLEIGH SUMNER

ARTAMO GALLERY presents the work of actress and artist Ashleigh Sumner in her
first solo exhibition in Santa Barbara: amazing paintings, comparable to an explosion on canvas, inspired by urban environments — the lines, frenetic energy, and movement of a metropolis. The raw, gritty textures of industrial areas are oddly beautiful to her and she captures this essence in her work, integrating collage and incorporating text through a stenciling technique that has a rough “street art” feel.
