MANIPULATIONS — TERI BLODGETT & METROV
SEPTEMBER 1 – OCTOBER 3 · 2010

An exhibition presenting a selection of black-and-white photographs by Teri Blodgett, individually manipulated and altered through full or partial dye-coloring and painting, juxtaposed with a painting and prints of the limited edition “A 5” series by D. A. Metrov who blend known comic figures into his twisted compositions.


MICK REINMAN ARTWORK ON A WINE LABEL
A painting by Mick Reinman was chosen for the the label of the 2007 Sonoma Coast Zinfandel by Artiste Winery in Los Olivos, California, for their new release of a “modern wine.”The relase partywas on September 4th at Artiste Winery. The wine will be presented at a special event at Artamo gallery during the Janet Bothne & Mick Reinma exhibition on October 22nd. (see information above)n

JACK REILLY — BREAKING AWAY
AUGUST 5–22, 2010

A special feature during the ever-changing “24/7 SUMMER” group exhibition of 24 artists over 7 weeks of summer. Jack Reilly, one of the original artists of the Abstract Illusionism movement in the U.S. in the 1970s became known for his geometric abstract works on complex shaped-canvases, breaking away from traditional forms and limits of painting. In his works, Reilly challenges concepts of illusionary and pictorial space, executed within an abstract painting context.

JACK N. MOHR — BEHIND THE SCENES
JULY 1–15

Black and white photographs by Jack N. Mohr taken in the dim backstage light of a photo shooting for a furniture catalog 25 years ago in Berlin, Germany. This is a special feature during the first two weeks of the “24/7 SUMMER” exhibition, a changing group show over 7 weeks of summer.

 

ANA MARINI — REFLEXIONES
JUNE 2–27 · 2010
An exhibition of new and recent small to mid-size paintings by Argentinian-American artist Ana Marini who takes us on a journey of migrations — from one country to another, one world to another, as well as into the inner spheres of silence. In story-telling images she reflects on her observations and own experience in life, while referring to Latin-American literature, e.g. "A Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez or works by Isabel Allende, in her installations and abstract paintings.

GORDON HUETHER SCULPTURES AT TOWN OF YOUNTVILLE PUBLIC ART WALK


The Town of Yountville Public Art Walk, featuring sculptures by Napa artist Gordon Huether, will kick off on June 3, 2010 with an opening reception for the public beginning at the Town of Yountville Community Center at 6 PM. The Community Center is located at 6550 Yount Street.

The Public Art Walk was designed to create an art experience in the Town of Yountville by placing sculpture throughout the main pedestrian areas of the town. "As a local artist, I am proud to be taking the lead in adding another layer of culture for residents and visitors to the Town of Yountville," said Huether.

ARTIST ANA MARINI NOW AT ARTAMO GALLERY

ARTAMO GALLERY now represents Ana Marini (born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, residing in Los Angeles) who studied art in Buenos Aires and L.A. Her work is about people and the way they experience their lives, reflecting emotions and thoughts. In her sculptures and paintings she suggests stories, not only of the moment but also of an entire life. A solo show is scheduled for June 2010.

MICHAEL MOON PAINTINGS IN A TV SHOW and a new home installation

Paintings by Michael Moon have been used in movies and TV shows. The latest appearnce: Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO (see the beginning scene, in the background between the two actors). A large painting on canvas, Black & White No. 30, in the size of 60" x 48", was recently sold and installed by ARTAMO GALLERY in a private residencei in Goleta, California — a perfect fit for this modernliving space.

Artiste Winery has been producing Impressionist art inspired wines for nearly a decade. Each wine is blended to taste, while respectfully paying homage to the great wines of Europe. Now, having produced over fifty wines labeled with Impressionist art, Artiste is branching out further into modern art with the production of two Artiste Modern Wines™.

To begin bottling their first “Modern Wines” Artiste Winery has collaborated with artists from Artamo Gallery in Santa Barbara. The first releases are a 2008 Malvasia Bianca and a 2007 Mourvedre, both sourced from exceptional Santa Barbara County vineyards. These wines are labeled with art by two Santa Barbara painters, Karin Aggeler and Jack N. Mohr
